An Invitation To Save Money!

I love greeting cards. I love fancy paper. I love stamps. I love wedding invitations, but I HATE how much they cost. In my invitation search, I have found that I gravitate towards the absolute, most expensive invitation in every sample book, every time.
When I came across an invitation kit in Target that I liked even a little bit, I bought it. I kept it sitting on the passenger seat of my car for a month before I opened it. I looked at it every day. I finally opened the kit and started printing, playing around with tons of fonts. I have learned to love my cheap invitation kit because the invites look nice, and also because by printing my own invites, I will save roughly $700.
The trick to a good self-printed invitation, besides a good printer, is the use of an excellent font. Font is everything, and if you don’t have good fonts on your computer, you might have to buy some online. What I ended up using for my invite is Engravers MT in 9pt, small caps and expanded in character spacing by 1pt for the main writing, and I used Edwardian Script ITC in 24 pt font for the names in the center. Both black ink and dark grey look awesome with these fonts, so you might want to try them out in different shades to make them match with whatever invite you choose.
I am telling you this dorky font stuff because it took me a few hours of procrastinating at work to find these fonts, and I think you might want to spend your time more wisely since you have to plan a wedding! You’re welcome.
