Investing in Wedding @#;*!

I’m the first child in my family to get married, and as a result, I have no wedding @#;*! to speak of. No random ring bearer pillows, no tiaras, no Jordan Almonds (I swear, some of the ones I’ve gotten in favors must be a decade old!). As a result, when pricing out the rental of wedding @#;*!, I’m always thinking in the back of my mind of how much it actually costs, and whether or not I’ll get my money back if I buy it and all my siblings, cousins, and single girlfriends use it. Should I buy 27 two-foot tall gothic wedding vases in a mock-gold finish? Maybe not. But, the one rentable item that I’m considering purchasing (so far) is a fancy cake stand. In searching for cake vendors and looking at lovely cake stands, I’ve found that the rental of fancy cake stands is anywhere from $50-$75. eBay has a whole host of them for between $75 and $200. The one in particular that I want is $128 for sale on eBay, and $50 for rent. This means that only 2.56 of my friends and/or family need to get married and/or eat a big cake and use this for me to get my money back. I think this might be worth it.

Have you “invested” in any wedding props for your future bride friends?

My veil has been around the block many times and no one has noticed. I’m not sure where it is anymore. I should have rented that thing out. :P
