Punxsutawney Phil Gives Me Great Hope!

I’m a March Bride. Not a June bride, not a fashionably Fall bride, not a Oooo-I’m-being-trendy-and-snowy winter Bride, but a March Bride. Great for negotiating with vendors, but perhaps not so great for the weather. I’m taking a big chance on this going in like a Lion and out like a Lamb thing. Funny, that is kinda how I’m going into the wedding planning process too, so I suppose it is fitting.
Anyway, you can imagine how exciting it was for me, on this Groundhog Day, to hear that Good Ole Phil didn’t see his shadow…or did he see it? I can’t remember. But, whatever he did, it means that Spring is around the corner and maybe I’ll have nice weather on my wedding day. I’m clutching to Phil’s forecast almost as much as I’m clutching to the money I’m saving by getting married in March.
Which leads me to a point in this rambling, crazy, post. I’m learning as I procrastinate, bargain, and figure out my last minute details, that besides picking poor Kris to be my husband, deciding to have my wedding in March is the best decision I ever made (by accident, seriously, both the wedding planning and poor Kris!). Every vendor I’ve talked to, even the popular, well-rated, expensive vendors are 1) available on my date and 2) willing to bargain with me, even at this late date. I’ve procrastinated for a few things, but I’m not terribly worried because I doubt anyone will go out and snatch up the vendors I want to use. It’s March. Who gets married in March? I do! Phil says it’s okay.

I heard on the radio (besides Phil saying so) that we’re going to have an early spring on the East Coast. So maybe it will be warmer than you think! :)

Your post will make my sister very happy as she too is a March bride!

Yeah! Let’s start a (good) trend.
