“Preliminary Research”

This upcoming weekend kicks off my wedding planning!

Although I’ve set the date, booked the church and reception venue, I haven’t “officially” decided anything else. I’ve scoured weddings websites, bridal magazines, and even tried on a few wedding dresses – all in the name of “preliminary research.”  Being an indecisive person and not knowing exactly what I wanted, I felt that this first step was really important. I needed to check out all different possibilities before I could decide for myself what I really wanted.

Taking these past few months to figure out my vision has really helped. I know now that I want my wedding day to represent me (and of course my fiancé) as much as possible, and won’t get bogged down or overwhelmed with the gazillion different options out there or trying to make things absolutely perfect.

So now I’m ready, my deadline is here.  I’m ready to try on dresses, I’m ready to pick out colors, I’m ready to decide on centerpieces.  I’ve done my “research” and hopefully will be able to make these decisions without any stress or worry.

I read a saying on pinterest today, which I hope to keep in mind throughout this wedding planning process and maybe will help to put things into perspective for you too. :)

I love this quote and it is so true! Too many brides stress about the planning and don’t enjoy the process when it should be the most fun and exciting time of your life!
