Top 10 Weddings of 2011

So this program was actually the top 10 celebrity weddings of 2011, hosted by TLC. I looked online but they don’t have the show available. Randy from Say Yes to the Dress went through what is said to be the year of celebrity weddings. I felt like I was blogging about a celebrity wedding every other week, so that explains it. Most people have seen the media hype around the Royal Wedding and Kim Kardashian/Kris Humphries, but there were many others. I wasn’t familiar with all of these celebrities but I agree that their weddings were very beautiful. On the program were the following (in order of my favorites, not the countdown order):

1. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries – Yes, we know how it ended and the poor guy is now the most disliked guy in the NBA. But the event itself was the ultimate for extravagance.
2. Prince William and Kate Middleton – Real royalty (not the self-proclaimed royalty) is really impressive and the couple seem like very genuine people.
3. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert – Miranda had a unique idea by having a bouquet of antique brooches (see picture above). She also killed her own venison that was used for the  wedding dinner. That’s also pretty unique.
4. Amy Smart and Carter Oosterhouse – On top of having a beautiful outdoor wedding, this couple definitely gets the Green award. Their wedding generated only one bag of trash! Maybe it was one huge bag.

I love the story of redemption and these couples have a strong love story coming out of a previous marriage, some not ending so favorably. Although labeled as “second marriages” in the public’s eye, each love story is a new love deserving of its own spotlight:

1. Shania Twain and Frederic Thiebaud
2. LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian 
3. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth
4. Spain’s Duchess of Alba – At 80 yrs old, she was the oldest bride of 2011
5. Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell
6. Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo
7. Niecy Nash and Jay Tucker
8. Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally - Funny video about their bridal party dance preparation, as choreographed by folks from Dancing With The Stars:
   

1. Kelly Pickler and Kyle Jacobs
2. Twilight’s Bella and Edward - And even though they are not a real wedding couple, this movie wedding made it to TLC’s list at #3.
3. Kate Moss and Jamie Hince

Other celebrity weddings that didn’t make the the show at all. I didn’t get invited to any of these weddings so I can’t tell you why they didn’t make the show.  :
